Amadeus Total Rail Customer Forum COUNTDOWN!

We’re now counting down the final few weeks until the Amadeus Total Rail Customer Forum, and we are getting very excited about what promises to be a dynamic and informative discussion of the issues facing the international rail industry in 2010 and beyond.

The Forum is taking place in Sophia Antipolis, near Nice on the Côte d’Azur from Monday 15th November until Wednesday 17th November, and the theme of the event is “Making the essential connections”. Knowing how to ‘connect’ – to other railways, to travellers, and to new customer audiences - is more important than ever for the rail industry - especially as we encounter deregulation and open access, high-speed rail, social media and diverse sales channels.

We certainly hope that the Total Rail Customer Forum will spark ideas and discussion that will help railways to meet these challenges head-on.   We’re also delighted to welcome a number of expert speakers in a programme of plenary sessions at the Forum. There will also be panel discussions, our 360 tech exchange, and a series of interactive workshops which will look at themes such as selling through social networks, using technology to improve the customer experience and how systems coped with the volcano crisis earlier this year.  Our industry expert speakers include Mark Smith, founder of the award-winning Man in Seat 61 website; Tony Berry, Director, Industry and Airfare Distribution, Hogg Robinson plc; and Dr Oliver Haferbeck, Vice-President, Project Management and Target Markets of Deutsche Bahn Sales, amongst others. In addition, Diane Bouzebiba, Head of Amadeus Rail, will discuss Amadeus’ Total Rail concept and Amadeus’ mission for railways and travel sellers in this rapidly evolving industry.

With such diverse and experienced speakers, we hope it will be a stimulating event for everyone attending.
