Thomas Drexler
Director, Amadeus Rail
Thomas Drexler joined Amadeus in October 2011 as Director of Rail and is responsible for helping expand and shape Amadeus’ Rail business. He joins with a clear brief to grow the Amadeus Rail proposition, holding end-to-end responsibility across the business unit.
Thomas brings with him a wide knowledge of the travel industry; he has been a well-respected and senior figure in this sector for many years. His combination of experience in travel distribution, airline, and rail industries is rather unique and makes him an ideal person to lead Amadeus Rail in times of rail deregulation and inter modal travel.
Thomas joins Amadeus from Deutsche Bahn where he was Vice President of Sales. He held commercial roles for the last eight years including Vice President of Regional Sales and Vice President of Distribution Channel Management, managing several hundred employees in each role and overseeing turnover of several billion euros. Prior to that, Thomas worked at Lufthansa as Managing Director of Lufthansa eCommerce. He held previous positions as Director of Corporate Development, and Director of Online Sales.
Earlier in his career (1996-98), he worked at Start Amadeus - now Amadeus Germany. Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Social and Economic Sciences from the University of Vienna. He is an Austrian citizen and is fluent in English and German.

Philip Martin
Head of Marketing
Since joining Amadeus in 1990 Philip has held various senior manager positions in development, product management and marketing in a variety of business lines, such as Hospitality, Tours, Car Rental, Airlines, Insurance, Ferry and Cruise. Philip has worked with railways since 1999 as both Business Unit Manager and Head of Ground & Maritime product management. As Head of Marketing Philip's main responsibilities are setting and implementing the Amadeus Rail marketing strategy and tactics.
Prior to joining Amadeus, Philip worked for both British Airways and American Express as a systems engineer.
Philip holds a degree in Environmental Science from Sussex University, something that is becoming more and more useful with today’s focus on “green” travel. He is a British citizen and is fluent in English and French.

Eve-Marie Morgo
Marketing
Eve-Marie joined Amadeus in 2010 and is responsible for marketing planning and communications for Amadeus Rail. She's been working in the travel industry for over 7 years, for companies such as Air France, Eurostar and IATA, based in the UK and Canada.
A French national, Eve-Marie studied International Business and holds a professional Diploma from the Institute of Direct Marketing, UK. -
Jamel Chandoul
Head of Global Sales
Jamel has a been working in the rail industry since 2001, first in the UK and then the USA. Jamel joined Eurostar in 2002 as Project and Product Manager; he was appointed Head of Distribution in charge of Eurostar distribution strategy and systems. He contributed to the revolution of Eurostar distribution channels with the launch of e-ticketing, home ticketing, ATOC interlining offer and the sale of Eurostar products and services on the Global Distribution Systems neutral airline display for travel agencies using the Amadeus GDS Gateway.
Jamel moved to the USA in 2008 to work for Rail Europe, in charge of growing and selling the Euronet distribution technology. He was responsible for the evolution of Euronet as a multi-channel and multi-inventory distribution platform through direct connect agreements with ATOC, Renfe, Amtrak, SNCF, and VIA RAIL.Jamel holds a Masters Degree in Mathematics and through his experience has an extensive knowledge of travel technologies, rail and airline industries.

Mirja Sickel
Sales and Account Manager
Before joining Amadeus, Mirja worked in different areas of the tourism sector starting with travel agencies, passing over to the hotel sector and finally arriving in airlines, where she worked in the Marketing and Pricing Department of Lufthansa Spain. Mirja holds a postgraduate degree in economics.
In 2005, Mirja started in the Airline IT marketing department of Amadeus Madrid, taking care of internal and external communication about the Altéa and IT stand-alone portfolio. She was involved in the establishment of the first concise IT sales pipeline and Airline IT market overview tool, which was later relieved by the current Airline CRM solution. Mirja joined the Airline Account Management team end 2006 being in charge of airlines in the German speaking countries. Duringthe last four years Mirja was in charge of the Lufthansa Group accounts, where she handled the commercial relationship focussing on the IT Business Line.

Guillaume Pamelard
Sales and Account Manager
Guillaume joined the Amadeus Rail Business Unit as Sales and Account Manager in 2009 based in Madrid.
Guillaume Pamelard has over five years experience in the travel industry in particular within the rail and airline business sector. Guillaume has held various positions within Amadeus in the fields of Marketing, Product Management, Portfolio Management, and Account Management.
In his previous role as Portfolio Manager, Guillaume was responsible for defining the Amadeus Airline IT and Airport IT product portfolio in terms of segmenting, positioning, packaging, and pricing. Guillaume also worked as Product Manager on a number of Airline IT solutions, particularly around Amadeus Altea Departure Control (check-in, boarding, baggage, mobile, customer-centricity, regulatory checks etc). Customers ranged from some of the world's largest airlines down to small regional carriers. Prior to joining the Amadeus Airline Business Unit, Guillaume also worked as Marketing Research Analyst for Corporate Marketing Intelligence, a department responsible for market research and competitive analysis.
Guillaume holds a MSc in International Business Admin from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. -
Martin Solf
Sales and Account Manager
Before joinig Amadeus in 1998 Martin worked in for different travel agencies in the areas of Rail, Business Travel Consultancy and Event Management (managing events with several thousands delegates). Martin started in Amadeus as a product trainer and then moved on to hold several positions in product management and product definition for the leisure and airline products as well as some big migration projects
Martin holds a postgraduate degree in business education and leadership management with social science.
In 2008 he joined the Rail Product Management team where he had the responsibility of internationalizing the rail business, identfying product improvements that needed a strong cooperation between the Amadeus central organisation, major railway companies and travel agencies.

Sarah Candy
Head of Sales and Account Management, APAC
Sarah joins the Amadeus Rail team on 26 March 2012 as Head of Sales & Account Management Rail, Asia Pacific based in Sydney.
Sarah has been with Amadeus for 15 years and during that time has held a number of senior roles including Account Director for Qantas and the Australasian carriers, Head of Sales for the Low Cost Carrier business unit and Head of External Marketing Relations for Airline IT
Sarah is British, living in Sydney for 18 years prior to moving to Madrid in 2006. -
Bertrand Poey
Head of Product and Programme Management
Bertrand has been with Amadeus since 2008, working as a project manager in the car rental business area before joining Amadeus Rail in 2009. He has gained vast experience in a variety of industries including automotives, telecoms, aviation, and transport, heading major projects for companies such as Siemens, Sema Group Telecom, France Telecom and Esso.
He holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute and graduated from E.S.I.E.A in Paris with a degree in Computer Science, Electronic and Automatic Technology.

Thorsten Zimmerman
Head of Product Management
Thorsten joined Amadeus in October 2010, he is in charge of the product management unit responsible for rail distribution and operations technology.
He has over 10 years experience in the travel industry and has worked for Lufthansa, Ypsilon and Sabre. He joins Amadeus from Sabre where he worked 8 years in project and product management and was Head of Rail Product Marketing.

Dominique Pitra
Manager Rail Program and Delivery
Dominique has over 25 years experience in managing large IT, Telecom and Automotive/Telematics projects. Her experience includes audit and project management consulting with a special emphasis on resources rationalization and risk identification and mitigation, project governance implementation (PMO), coaching and mentoring of project managers, PMP and CAPM certifications trainer, Telematics Services Technical and Operational consulting. The companies she has worked for include IBM, Lucent Technologies, and Cobra Telematics Development SA.
Dominique has an engineering degree from the Technology University of Compiegne.
