Amadeus Rail Team: Franck Vandenbroucke

March 24, 2015
Author: Eve-Marie Morgo

This month we meet Franck Vandenbroucke, Market Manager in Nice. He tells us about his role at Amadeus and how it helps markets, regions, and customers to deploy and use Amadeus Rail booking and ticketing solutions.

Tell us about your role at Amadeus Rail

As a Market Manager, I’m in charge of the deployment of Amadeus Rail booking solutions for the WEMEA region (Western Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) since 2014. This transversal role encompasses all the market-related activities in coordination with the region, our local offices and the rail team (market analysis, deployment strategies, up to operations).

How does your role help make rail booking easier?

The main objective of this role is to facilitate relationships and create channels between several stakeholders such as railways, the markets, and Amadeus. In order to promote and ease the deployment of Amadeus Rail products in the WEMEA region. This definitively helps making booking rail easier.

What has been your most rewarding moment working for Amadeus Rail so far?

Since January 2014, we’ve been leading a dedicated effort to initiate the deployment of Amadeus Rail Display throughout Western Europe. At the end of 2014, all the major countries were up and running with the product, with customers live in production and generating bookings. I was impressed by the dedication and excellence of all the players involved.

What excites you about working in the rail industry?

It’s very interesting to see how rail distribution is now moving very fast to new horizons, embracing new technologies for a better traveler experience and improved operational services. It’s becoming Rail 2.0.

"The most exciting part is to bring new technologies into a very established travel industry such as the rail one."

What’s your favorite travel destination?

One of my favorite destinations is London. This is a city where you can feel that everything is possible and there is no limit. The mix of all the people, cultures, and horizons brings an incredible energy when traveling to the city.

What’s your favorite app?

I like listening to music during sports, travels, inside my car or even at home. So I have all my favorite apps (Podcast, Deezer, Shazam…) into a dedicated folder on my iPhone.  Listening and discovering new artists, bands or styles is becoming so easy and funny with the new technology now.
