Only 1 week left for the Amadeus Rail Innovation Forum 2017! Under our theme RAILyourWAY, we have a packed agenda that will discuss how to meet rail traveller needs, look at future trends and how technology and innovation in rail can support your business. Keep on reading to discover the latest event details

The pace of technology innovation is rapidly changing the travel industry, and railways are no exception. As artificial intelligence (AI), social selling and new payment methods make their mark in the sector, how can railways harness these technologies to meet their own unique needs?

The Amadeus Rail Innovation Forum

We’ll be exploring this question in depth at the 10th Amadeus Rail Innovation Forum 2017, which will kick off next week at the Hotel Corinthia in Prague, Czech Republic. Over the course of the Forum, attendees will hear from a variety of expert speakers including:

  • Railways
  • Travel management companies
  • Innovation experts
Antoine de Kerviler, Global Head Rail & Ground Travel, Amadeus, will open the event with a presentation on the theme of the event – RAILyourWAY – and how Amadeus is working with railways to help them become more successful by being innovative.

Technology and Innovation

In particular, the Forum will focus on the role of new technologies: as Amadeus celebrates 30 years, Amadeus’ Denis LacroixSenior Vice-President R&D, Core Shared Services R&D, will outline where we can expect innovation to take us over the next 30 and how technology will shape the future of travel.

Future trends

For example, Future Candy’s Konstanze Kossack will explore the potential of virtual reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots for railways, highlighting what railways can learn from other industries when it comes to using these technologies.

Fabien Soulet and Kateřina Víchová from SNCF will explain how railways can harness the power of social media selling tools, showcasing how SNCF is improving the rail customer experience using new digital tools.

Today's challenges

GEBTA’s Marcel Forns will be asking: is bleisure still a trend? Thomas Muller from Egencia will explore how TMCs and railways can work together to meet corporate customer needs.

Amadeus’ Diane Bouzebiba and Lutz Vorneweg will outline how evolving rail distribution trends might impact rail sales channels and its strategies.

Technology Showcase

In our Technology Showcase, attendees will have the opportunity to see our innovative rail it systems, rail solutions and new technologies prototypes for rail companies.

The first-ever Amadeus Express Hack!

We’re also very excited to be hosting the first-ever Amadeus Express Hack innovation contest. Participants invited to join the contest come from railways, travel agencies, travel start-ups and Amadeus. They will be given 20 hours to come up with an idea for solving a real-life industry challenge. After ideation and prototyping, teams will present their projects on stage at the Forum. We look forward to seeing the solutions and innovations the teams develop!

We would like to welcome all our delegates to Prague, and for those who can’t attend in person, we’ll be tweeting from the event and posting updates to our blog – you can follow the discussion on Twitter at #RailForum17.
