Amadeus revolutionises
rail booking at Key Travel

Demand for international rail is increasing for both business and leisure travel. It’s becoming a real alternative with complementary benefits: time saving, avoiding long airport check-ins or transfers, the ability to work on-board, environmentally friendly and it opens up thousands of destinations throughout Europe.

Key Travel was established in the UK to serve very cost conscious and ethically motivated customers, keen on the ‘green’ credentials of rail travel. Key Travel relied heavily on legacy systems for its international bookings. As a consequence, rail booking was complicated, fragmented, frustrating and slow, making it difficult to raise efficiency, expand capacity and improve service.

The solution

Amadeus Rail Display answered Key Travel urgent need for an easy-to-use international rail booking system that was not dependent on specialist skills. It features ease-of-use and customer service levels that match modern air booking tools. Real-time fares, schedules and availability for multiple railways are all available through this one tool with trip comparisons made easily on a single screen.

The result

With Amadeus Rail Display, Key Travel has reduced end-to-end booking time by a half, raising staff confidence and improving response times, finding new ways to please its customers.

Agents can now make easy comparisons of up to four alternative trips and create a bespoke PDF ready for emailing straight to the client.

In this short video [3mins], hear from Key Travel and Voyages SNCF about what they like about Amadeus Rai Display.
